23 for Divine Me Challenge
Doesn’t the start of a new year feel fresh and full of possibilities? I think that is why we set new year resolutions. We see 365 days to finally accomplish that desire or achieve that goal.
I came into 2023 with hope. It’s been a rough couple years. (I’ve been embarrassed to talk about much of it, but I finally letting it out with a blog post.) And I’m ready for change.
I’ve been thinking about doing a health challenge for a while. And what better time to start than now. So introducing 23 for Divine Me. The challenge got this name from a joke, actually. Since the new year, Scott has been saying, “23 and Me.”I can’t take that phrase for copyright reasons, but I love the sound of 2023 being about focusing on my needs and putting in effort to make myself feel better.
And since I’m creating a whole challenge, I thought I’d share with you and invite those who are ready and willing to join me.
What Is 23 for Divine Me?
The short answer is that it’s a health challenge for 2023 taken one month at a time.
I decided that 2023 would be my year to really take my health—mind, body, and spirit—into my own hands. For too long I have let anxiety and excuses keep me from embracing my healthy divine self. Not anymore.
I chose to focus on health and not fitness because I want to feel good in my mind, body, and soul, not just look good in my jeans (although that is also a big motivator 😉 ).
I am inviting anyone who wants to join me on this journey to take this challenge one month at a time, because “step by step” really works. Let’s not get overwhelmed thinking of an entire year. Let’s just focus on the next four weeks.
Ready? I sure am. Let’s do this!
What Does the Challenge Entail?
Have you ever heard of 75 Hard? I’ve never completed it. I started it a couple months ago, but quickly realized my current lifestyle makes it a little impossible, unless I want to harm other aspects of my health. But I love the idea with a few modifications that allow me to focus on my mind, body, and spirit.
Each month includes tasks that help us work on our mind, body, and soul. Many tasks will be similar month-to-month. But there will be differences as well. Examples of tasks include:
- Mind: Read 10 pages of any book daily.
- Body: Exercise at least 15 minutes daily.
- Soul: Meditate at least 5 minutes daily.
Again, the tasks will be slightly different depending on the main focus of the month.
Are You Ready to Join Me?
As I mentioned, I’ll be doing this challenge throughout the year, so if you miss a challenge, you can always start with the next one. And, you can always start in the middle of a challenge as well.
